Chris Davis is an American professional baseball player. He currently plays for the Baltimore Orioles in Major League Baseball (MLB). . Davis, nicknamed “Crush Davis” because of his skills, started his NFL career with the Texas Rangers before being traded to the Baltimore Orioles in 2011.

After graduating from high school in 2004, Davis was chosen by the New York Yankees as the second-to-last pick in the 2004 Major League Baseball (MLB) draft, however, he turned down the offer, opting to date the Navarro instead. Junior College of Texas, where he became the team’s third baseman and first baseman.
He was scouted by the Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim, who drafted him in the 2005 MLB Draft, and he also turned down the offer. In 2006, he was named Juco’s preseason All-American by Baseball America- This also earned him Region XIV Zone XIV Most Valuable Player honors.
That same year he recorded 17 home runs and Davis and was drafted, this time by the Texas Rangers in the fifth round of the 2006 MLB Draft and he accepted the offer that marked the start of his career in the minor leagues. For the remainder of the season, he was with the Spokane Indians of the Northwest League single season A, playing the fielding and first baseman positions. He batted .277 with 70 hits through 69 games. Meanwhile, Davis had 65 strikeouts (eighths), 18 doubles, 15 home runs and 42 RBIs (RBI).
Bakersfield Blaze of the advanced Single-A California League was its first team of the 2007 season before being promoted to the Frisco RoughRiders, which was part of the Double-A Texas League. He will stay there for the rest of the season. At the end of the season, he was named Rangers Tom Grieve Minor Hockey League Player of the Year. At the start of the following season, he was ranked the No. 2 spy in the Rangers organization, behind Baseball America’s Elvis Andrus.
In the 2008 season, he played first base for Frisco, who averaged .333 with 62 hits, 13 home runs and 42 RBIs in 46 games, before receiving another promotion to the Triple-A Oklahoma RedHawks from the Pacific Coast League. He hit .333 with 37 hits, 10 rushing home runs and 31 RBIs in 31 games. He was named All-Star Futures Match, but was unable to play due to his promotion to the major leagues from the Texas Rangers.
Although, he recorded his first major league batting, against Óscar Villarreal, the game ended in a 7-2 loss to the Houston Astros. His first Major League game at first base was on June 27, 2008, in which he recorded his first Major League home run.
He remained with the Texas Rangers until the 2011 season when he was traded to the Baltimore Orioles alongside pitcher, Tommy Hunter, in exchange for reliever Koji Uehara. Since then, he has remained with Orioles (as of this writing).
In 2017, Chris Davis marked his 200th career game to run in an Orioles uniform, making him the eighth in Oriole franchise history to do so. In May of that year, he recorded his 250th career victory (208th as an Oriole) to become the 221st player in MLB history to do so.

He also recorded his 738th career hit as an Oriole thus becoming the record 50th in franchise history to do so. He also tied with Brady Anderson for 7th place in franchise history with his 209th career home run as an Oriole. In that season, he hit .215/.309/.423 overall and .208/.293/.326 against left-hander.
