Police are looking for both the person who fired the gun and the evidence after a man was shot and murdered early on Friday morning. According to representatives of the Salt Lake City Police Department, a 911 call was made at 1:43 a.m. reporting a person lying on the ground around 600 East 200 South.

Police do not feel there is a threat to the community even if a suspect or suspects have not been named or apprehended, as it appears they argued with the victim before to the deadly shooting. The crime, according to the Salt Lake City Police Department, is the fourteenth homicide in the city thus far in 2023.
